Question by valuecom: Does anyone have any good ideas for a “catchy” name for a Internet marketing business??
I own a web business, I have been doing web development fo over 15 years. I do fairly well at it.

I want to start a separate off-shoot of the business for web design sparate from the local search directories I own in Atlanta.

I play around in here sometimes so I thought I would see if anyone might have any suggestions.

i’ve noticed more companies using common words, with a shorter, uncommon spellings. take “flikr” for instance. i’ve always liked the word “focus” spelled “FOKUS”. that’s how some countries in europe spell it.

I work for a commercial real estate company and I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas for getting our spaces leased? Besides the obvious ones like signs or Craigslist? If you lease a space, what sold it to you and what would be helpful to put on our signs in our windows? Thanks

Go to your Address tool bar and/or under Web Search, type in yahoo search and/or Wikipedia. Once you have the search web page for one of these web site addresses type in the main words that you need researched and you will get the best answer to the question that you are looking for!

Paper is cheap.

Print yourself some ads and get them paced in spots where buyers will see them. Lots of college students buy computer furniture. Post your ad on college bulletin boards, shopping centers, or light posts.

Place an ad in the yellow pages.

Have a fake tickertape parade, then you can throw ads from your car to people and avoid littering laws.

Stand outside furniture stores and hand out ads to people going in… don’t stand too close to their door though. They’ll get mad.

Question by Tracy W: Anyone have ideas on team building/marketing exercises that can be done via an online meeting?
My architecture company has four offices and we meet weekly using a web-based meeting program. It’s my responsibility to host the next meeting but I am looking for something fun/creative to do in the area of marketing/team building. It’s a challenge because the people attending the meeting are not all physically in the same room. I want everyone to leave the meeting with a better understanding/buy-in of how they can be part of marketing the company.

I have been looking into the same thing for my business. I have found one company called Hypedrive that markets for you on the internet without using any of the ways you listed above. They say it is a highly targeted approach. I’m not sure exactly how they do it, but I think I might give them a try.
