Wow A Lean Cuisine That Rocked
I haven’t tried Lean Cuisine products in years. Many years. And years ago, I didn’t like them very much. But the other day, when I was out shopping for fast diet food, I decided to try the Lean Cuisine Brick Oven Style Gourmet Mushroom Pizza, which is described as having button, portabello & cremini mushrooms in a creamy mushroom sauce. This rectangular pizza has 320 calories, 7g fat, and 0g trans fat.
First things first, you must like mushrooms to eat this pizza, because it is definitely filled with mushroom flavor. But assuming you are a mushroom fan, this pizza freaking rocks! Seriously, it was absolutely delicious. Not sure if Lean Cuisine has improved all of their foods this much, or if this is just a one-shot deal, but I’m certainly willing to try more now.
Wow, totally loved that lunch. Ding! Ding! Another winner, folks.
We need your support! Even if it’s just wishing us luck every now and then, we’d be grateful. Of course, linking to the contest or becoming a sponsor would be very cool too, and would be appreciated by the winning charity, I’m sure!

Lean Cuisine has really good food! I love their little pizzas. I like many of their other dishes as well. But it usually leaves me pretty hungry. So I recommend working towards it if you’re used to a lot of calories during the day.
I used to eat them all the time - when I was 30 lbs lighter. Hmmm…I see a correlation.

LOL. Funny how that works, huh?

I like the Weight Watchers Smart Ones line of foods too. They’ve really improved in the past few years.

I bought a few of those, but they are still in the freezer. Haven’t gotten around to trying one yet. We’ll see if I agree.

Lean Cuisine, Weight Watchers Smart Ones and Healthy Choice are staples of my lunch diet. Have been for years, as much for economic reasons as dietary — it’s WAY cheaper to brown bag than it is to go out for restaurant food every day.
I’ve found the frozen entrees are a lot more satisfying than a sandwich (and — depending on the type of sandwich — usually about the same, or maybe even less, in calorie count!). I generally add a serving of dairy (cottage cheese, yogurt) for the calcium and to up the protein (keep me from getting so hungry in the middle of the afternoon) and an extra serving of fruit or veggies, just to “round out” the meal.
I’ve found, as with just about anything, some of the entrees work better than others. It’s just a matter of trying the ones that sound interesting. You’re probably going to find some that you like a LOT, and some you don’t care for at all, and a whole bunch that fall somewhere in the middle.
I like the Lean Cuisine Panini. Good hot sandwich when I’d otherwise be tempted to run out for a sub or burger. Just yesterday, one of my workmates was raving about the Lean Cuisine Chophouse Steak Flatbread Melt sandwich (beef, red peppers, onions and blue cheese, heated, on a pita/flatbread). She said it was muy delicioso. There are four flatbread varieties — I’m planning to give those a try soon.
Check some of the regular Stouffer’s stuff, too. A lot of them are pretty hefty on the calorie count, but in some cases, the calorie count isn’t that far off from the Lean Cuisines. You’ll want to check the other nutritional stuff to make sure it fits with your chosen diet plan, though. But if they work for you, that expands your choices even further.
Yeah, I’m a Lean Cuisine evangelist…
