May I suggest the library for recipe books, diet books and exercise books. Get stuff by Jillian Michaels...

You can get DVD's on exercise routines Leslie Sansone

That's ok, we're flexible, right? LOL, or at least we're aiming to be. I think I might go to the bookstore this weekend and find some books with recipes. Flip through them, be able to see actual photos of food so I have an idea of whether it'll be something that will work for me. Between sparkpeople and various other things, pretty sure I can make this work out fine, even with the glitch in plans. Good luck with finding a good child-friendly gym too.

Bummer on the eDiets.

I'm in process of cancelling my account at the gym I've been going to and switching to a new one. Had a couple incidents with the child care and don't trust my kids to them anymore. Still, stinks to have a "change-up" in the plans just as you're getting started, KWIM?

Hope the new option works out for you.

Because I'm not used to thinking about such things as heart problems (not mine, btw), I thought it would be best to follow something that spells out exactly what to eat. If it were just losing weight...well, heck, I've been on enough diets in my life to handle that on my own. But the heart things adds complications I'm not used to dealing with. Still, just the bit I've read so far, I think maybe we can wing it.

Hey Donna-

What attracted you to the eDiets plan? I use an online calorie counter (the cleverly named my-calorie-counter.com) that helps me to quickly track my intake of calories, fat, carbs, protein, water, etc for the day.

It's free to use for tracking... however if you want totals you have to subscribe. It's like $30 a year, which is pretty reasonable!

They have forums and articles and other stuff, but I pretty much use it strictly for the food tracking.
