Final Weigh In at Contest End

I began this contest at 241 pounds and end it at 224 pounds. That’s a total loss of 17 pounds. I probably could have lost more (I wanted to) but as of the last month I’ve been mostly maintaining. I really need to do a week or two of just lean meats and vegetables with no sugar, no wine or beer and no starches to shed a few more pounds. I may do that this week and if not, next week definitely as Small Business Marketing Unleashed is fast approaching.

Here are the beginning and ending scale shots.

Beginning Weight - February 1, 2008

Ending Weight - March 31, 2008

So far, it appears that Scottie beat me overall at a total loss of 21 pounds. Congratulations, Scottie! It also appears that I won over all for the guys. Therefore the next process will be to allow people to vote between me and Scottie (unless we are not actually the winners for our classes) in which the winner’s charity of choice will received all the funds donated to this contents thus so far.

The contest was a fun way to lose weight. Many thanks to Donna Fontenot for putting this together and all the participants for posting on their success (or defeats).

Weight loss will not stop here for me. I need to continue on to get to my goals of 195 - 200 lbs. It may take a while but then again, I’ve been putting all this extra weight on for the last 10 years or so.

Counting Down To The Finale!

It has been awhile since I checked in here. Been really busy. So I weighed in today at 223 which is amazing seeing how bad I have been. Don’t get me wrong - I haven’t gone completely back to my evil eating ways. However, I have cheated a little here, a little there.

For example, I’m trying to stay away from white breads, pasta, rice, etc. Monday I ate white rice, Wednesday I ate pizza (although really thin pizza) and yesterday, meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Nevertheless I am two pounds lighter than the last time I checked in here. Must be the smaller portions combined with exercise.
I was hoping to make another push this week to lose 10 pounds or so by limiting myself to lean meats and vegetables. That hasn’t worked out quite the way I planned. At least there is one more week in this thing. Maybe, just maybe I can convince myself to be good next week so I can drop another 5 - 10 pounds. We will see. ;)

Here We Start Month Two

Haven’t updated lately due to the fact that I was at SMX West last week combined with a short trip to San Francisco and Wine Country. I ate bad. I avoided the sweets such as deserts and candy, however, I ate some starches and of the white variety. Pizza, breaded wings and pasta at Original Joe’s. Besides that, I was typically drinking Guiness in the evening which is likened oil (although it doesn’t taste like oil).

I was afraid I’d gain ten pound or more by the time I got back. I weighed in this morning and the scales said 225. Only 1 pound gained after a week of what I think of as “bad” eating habits.

Now I must confess that yesterday, I weighed 227 so in reality, I gained 3 pounds on the trip but am now back at 225 and back to my regiment of eating healthy, smaller portions and exercising. Let’s only hope for another surge of weight loss here in the next couple of weeks.
