If you are looking for the cheapest prices, then I recommend you learn SEO yourself. This may save you a lot of money in the long run as some so called SEO experts may rip you off.

There are free online classes that you can take advantage of to learn SEO, I recommend that you try that first. It will take time but it is wise to at least know some basic SEO information like title tag, meta tag, keywords, backlinks and so on.

If you must pay someone because you don’t have the time get referrals, Google their name and make sure they are who they say they are. If you search their name and nothing comes up, how can they be an SEO expert?

I know of an SEO expert that was charging up to $ 30,000.00 per campaign, but I remember him saying that he would not guarantee sales, just a page 1 ranking on the search engines.

This person taught for free online if you were willing to take the time and learn.

I don’t know what going rates for SEO are, since I’ve never wasted the money on paying someone to do it. If you do a little research, you can do just fine optimizing on your own.

But in terms of CMS optimization, most SEO is done in the layout… which if you’re having a custom-built CMS made, you have full control over.
