			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, I&#8217;ve been slacking more than a bit on posting here. However, I&#8217;ve actually been doing decent in at least keeping the weight off. I am still down 10lbs from when we started the challenge and have been getting full while eating smaller portions which is a good thing. I still haven&#8217;t done much excercise, however, I am going to be playing church league softball in a couple of weeks and that should help get my lazy butt moving.</p>
<p>So far the only weight loss tips I have would be to drink a lot of water every day (I drink about a gallon per day, the correct amount depends on your body size) and to eat slower. Apparently it takes a while for your stomach to relay to your brain that it&#8217;s full even after it actually is. So those of us that eat quickly will continue to eat even after we&#8217;ve eaten enough because we haven&#8217;t gotten the signal from our stomach yet.</p>
<p>Anyway, I wanted to drop in and update and also thank Donna for putting this all together. While I didn&#8217;t drop as much weight as I had hoped, it really has started me on the pathway to healthier eating and living.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, I finally got on the scale this morning again and was happy to see that I&#8217;m down 10lbs from the initial weigh in. I still haven&#8217;t done nearly enough exercise though so I&#8217;m fairly confident that I can keep the weight coming off. I&#8217;ve found that drinking a lot of water throughout the day has helped keep down my appetite quite a bit. I&#8217;ve also been eating Subway more and am really digging the low fat chicken teriyaki with sweet onion sauce (6 grams of fat).</p>
<p>So, all in all I&#8217;m pretty happy about the progress so far but need to really get on the ball with an exercise routine if I&#8217;m going to win this competition. There are about 5 weeks to go and if I recall correctly, that&#8217;s exactly how long it takes to make something a habit. So, if I start a routine now, hopefully by the end of this thing it will be a habit.</p>

<p>One thing that I think is really holding me back  is my schedule at work. We&#8217;ve been slammed and unfortunately I can&#8217;t take much  of a lunch break. So, I end up eating fast food even though I know it&#8217;s probably  the worst thing possible for losing weight (and maybe just health in general).  My wife has been great about buying veggies and no fat dressing (used as a dip)  for snacks and such, but that just doesn&#8217;t cut it for me when it&#8217;s meal time. I  think I&#8217;m going to have to start bringing my lunch with me to work. Any  suggestions for quick and easy lunches that will fill me up without also filling  out my waist band again?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I went to my chiropractor last week for a tune up. I&#8217;ve been having problems with my SI joint and it&#8217;s been a pretty nagging issue. After our session the doc told me that I would do myself a lot of good if I started doing some chore exercises to strengthen the muscles in that area. I guess more muscle will keep things more stable and make the problem less likely to flair up as it&#8217;s been doing on a fairly regular basis. While this wasn&#8217;t exactly something I was hoping to hear, I am glad that exercise will help it.</p>
<p>The doc said I&#8217;d be more sore than usual for a while when working that area but as I told him &#8220;I&#8217;d much rather be sore because I worked out, than sore because I didn&#8217;t.&#8221; So exercise it is. My wife and I are looking at a gym but I&#8217;m not sure whether we&#8217;ll actually join it or not. I may just start jogging with my dog around the neighborhood and a few of the chore exercises at home. I&#8217;ll keep you updated.</p>
<p>Oh, and P.S. I&#8217;m still weighing in at 235. Not bad considering I was forced to eat fast food twice last week. I did have a few solid meals (salad twice and a low fat sub from subway) so I guess that worked out to a wash. More later and good luck to my fellow fat fighters!</p>

I really haven&#8217;t done much exsercising yet but I have tried to eat a bit better and less. <p>My wife is going to be getting some healthier snack stuff (carrots, celery, snap peas, etc) and hopefully I&#8217;ll find a low fat dressing or dip that I like the taste of as well. I&#8217;ve found fairly quickly that if I munch throughout the day, I don&#8217;t eat nearly as much at meal times and I&#8217;m less tempted to go for the high calorie foods like pizza or a big bacon burger or something.</p>
<p>In any case, I&#8217;m still going to have to get moving more eventually but I&#8217;ll keep everyone updated as to how I&#8217;m doing.</p>

<p>So, I&#8217;m off to buy one from Target. The fun part is we got 8 inches of snow last night so I get to go clean off the car and then drive around town where people seem to become even dumber drivers (which is impressive really) when there&#8217;s the white stuff on the ground.</p>

If you haven&#8217;t heard, I and several other SEO&#8217;s are going to be teaming up to lose weight and raise some money for charity.
