Down Five Pounds

Well I stepped on the scale this morning and was at 235 (down from the initial weigh in at 240). I really haven’t done much exsercising yet but I have tried to eat a bit better and less. The SuperBowl certainly didn’t help any but I guess it wasn’t too terribly bad since I still checked in 5 pounds lighter overall.

My wife is going to be getting some healthier snack stuff (carrots, celery, snap peas, etc) and hopefully I’ll find a low fat dressing or dip that I like the taste of as well. I’ve found fairly quickly that if I munch throughout the day, I don’t eat nearly as much at meal times and I’m less tempted to go for the high calorie foods like pizza or a big bacon burger or something.

In any case, I’m still going to have to get moving more eventually but I’ll keep everyone updated as to how I’m doing.

You know, this is why women sometimes hate men.

    :-P

Lol I’d say sorry Jennifer but I need all the advantages I can get on this one. I have this natural hatred for most vegetables and a love for snacking so… we’ll see how I end up.

Way to go, Ben. I agree with Jennifer, it’s kind of maddening how easily you guys can lose weight, but that’s not your fault. Don’t worry about making slow changes; that’s probably the best way to make them stick and have long-term success. By the way, where are those pics you promised?
