Question by mo14mahoney: A company I used as a supplier is now using my company name to gain search hits. Is there anything I can do?
I own a very small farmers market based business and used a pretty large supplier for the specialized packaging of one of my products. I did a recent search for my company and their company popped up. Its not actually on their website but its written into their HTML source code. It even says “cheaper than” and then my company name. Now if someone searches for my company they find my past supplier! I think its completely unethical but feel like there is nothing I can do. Please help!

that is a bit wrong, there should be something you can do about it, i am not sure exactly who you could talk to about it, but that is wrong i believe.

There is no easy way to get your site a high ranking with SEO.

1) Target the right keywords. Target the wrong keyword phrases and your online business is destined to fail.

2) Don’t use keywords or phrases that are too broad. The competition is too fierce, and research has shown that though you will get more traffic through general phrases, that traffic doesn’t convert to sales. All of the traffic in the world will do you no good if it doesn’t convert to sales!

3) Optimize your page content. Target each Web page to a different and highly focused keyword phrase. In other words, your main page should be optimized for one keyword phrase. Are the keywords used relative to the site’s overall content? Do you use too many keywords, or too few?

4) Build your backlinks.

I am interested if any negative information or links exist that may indicate Vortex Marketing Group, Joel Sauceda and his other companies and affiliates, including the somewhat less than glamorous products offered. Odd informational responses from all the standard search engines seems to defy what the mathematical statistiscs should dictate. In all my internet searches, everyone seems to be showing only good responses front loaded and supported internally by other members and their links driving the most popular to appear relevent. It seems to be a very suspicious pyamidal scam. The self sustaining free peer support system determined to gain entry into respectable ecommerce. Like an Amway or other such systems, using devices to slowly bait the interest and slowly feed the info. I am very concern because a relative called to help introduce me to this with, you know, a free benefactor code. I’m looking for objectivity, and yes, I have a background in general advertising and direct mail.
